#26: Sinus Infection

Indications: Relief and prevention of symptoms related to frontal and nasal sinusitis.

Description:
Sinusitis often appears suddenly and in conjunction with inflammation of the mucous membranes in the nose and throat. Often, the intensity of the symptoms will vary throughout the course of the illness. Nasal secretions will turn slightly yellow and there may also be congestion.

Repeated antibiotic therapy does not help to permanently clear up the problem, as it is much more deeply rooted. Homeopathy focuses on the mucous membranes and connective tissues to treat the
illness.

Ingredients:
Kalium bichromicum 4x is used to treat inflamed sinuses and mucous membranes. When the mucous membrane becomes inflamed, it also becomes covered by a thick secretion and may crust and even bleed. Kalium bichromicum particularly has an effect during the inflammatory stage.

Hydrastis Canadensis 3x has a an effect on the mucous membrane in particular when there is stuffiness with congestion.

Hepar sulphuris 10x benefits individuals sensitive to cold and prone to repeated nasal inflammation. Sulphur is always used in homeopathy in cases of congestion as well as other chronic conditions which is manifested through sinusitis.

Silicea 12x is used when the body's natural healing may be weakened and works on the connective tissues and is used in combination with fluorspar, which enhances the effect.

Mercurius iodatus ruber 3x mercury and iodine help fight bacterial infections.

Calcium fluoratum 12x enhances the effect of silicea and benefits the connective tissue.

Dosage:
During acute cases, 20 drops every hour, for recurring infections, 20 drops 3-5 times per day.
