#24: Cough

Indications: Pertussis (whooping cough); dry cough; bronchitis (acute or chronic).

Description:
Coughing is a common symptom and, as such, can be caused by a myriad of things. For example, a dry cough may be caused by dust or other foreign bodies irritating the lungs and respiratory tract.

Even a single grain of dust can have a tremendous effect. When dust enters the body, the first line of defense is the mucous membranes which catch the dust, preventing it from entering further into the body. A cough is the body?s response that expells foreign particles out of the body.

A person can only live for a few minutes without oxygen and, as a result, the very nature of a cough is extreme. Homeopathy seeks to understand the true nature of the problem; whereas conventional medicines suppress the cough or reduce inflammation and are counterproductive to the body's natural defenses.

Ingredients:
Ammonium bromatum 3x works on the respiratory organs and the circulatory system and soothes the central nervous system having a specific effect on the mucous membrane.

Ipecacuanha 2x assists with violent coughing and/or vomiting.

Rumex crispus 2x is used when talking in a casual manner triggers a coughing episode.

Phosphorous 5x helps initiate the calcium process which affects the inflamed mucous membranes and assists in the prevention of pneumonia.

Drosera rot 4x helps contain the cough throughout the night.
